What do you need for a website? Domain, hosting & content

Before a website can go live, a few building blocks have to be in place. The good news: the list is short, and most of it can be prepared in an afternoon — or handled for you. Here is what you need, in plain language.

Evorian AI team

1. A clear goal

Decide what the website should do: bring phone calls, collect booking inquiries, sell products or simply present your work. The goal determines the pages you need and what goes at the top of each one.

2. A domain

The domain is your address on the internet — for example yourbusiness.com. It is registered in your name and renewed every year. Choose something short, easy to spell and close to your business name; country endings tell visitors where you are.

3. Hosting

Hosting is the place where your website lives so that it is available around the clock. Modern, fast websites can often be hosted very cheaply — sometimes even on free plans — and include a security certificate (HTTPS) by default.

4. Content: texts, photos and logo

  • Logo and brand colors — if you have them. If not, a clean wordmark is enough to start.
  • Services or products — with short descriptions and, ideally, prices.
  • Photos — of your work, space, team or products. Real photos beat stock photos.
  • Contact details — phone, email, address, opening hours and social profiles.
  • A few sentences about you — who you are and why customers choose you.

Don’t have everything? That is normal. We structure your offer and write clear copy based on your business, and — with your approval — use content from your social media.

5. The legal basics

Most websites need a privacy policy, and a cookie notice if you use tracking or advertising tools. Online stores usually also need terms for ordering, delivery and returns. Requirements differ by country, so check what applies to your business with your accountant or lawyer.

What you do not need

  • Technical knowledge — the build, launch and domain connection are our job.
  • Finished texts — a few notes and a conversation are enough.
  • A big budget — professional websites at Evorian AI start from $400, with a free demo first.

Have the basics? We do the rest.
